About Lincoln County Television
LCTV is a community media organization with more than a 20-year track record. LCTV’s media center, located in Newcastle, broadcasts 24/7 and reaches approximately 5,000 households in 10 communities; Alna, Bristol, Damariscotta, Dresden, Edgecomb, Newcastle, Nobleboro, Waldoboro, Westport Island and Wiscasset.
LCTV provides local communities with access to: television production equipment for the development of community-focused programming, training and hands-on experience with field (camcorder), editing and studio equipment, and available public access channel time for individuals, qualified persons, groups and organizations. Our Bulletin Board is available at no charge to non-profit, community and governmental organizations to create broadcast announcements that inform and encourage volunteering and community participation.
Viewers benefit from the diverse coverage supplied by local producers of government meetings and programming about history and heritage, music and arts, health, environment, sports, comedy, education, senior citizen and youth topics. LCTV also provides viewers with alternative media produced nationally by those affiliated with other public access stations and non-commercial production companies.
LCTV is funded by a portion of cable television subscriber franchise fees paid to the communities of Damariscotta, Newcastle, Nobleboro, Waldoboro and Wiscasset and is not funded by tax dollars. As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization, we also depend upon gifts and grants from private and public foundations, individual donors and our Sponsorship Program.
LCTV has a lot to offer to those who participate in it and those who support it. To remain a vibrant community service, LCTV needs community participation and your financial support.
